Re: Original Solaris Prototype pictures
Here's an even earlier version, made from STL files and the PDF of the frontpanel layout, along with a few pre-pre-production images of the panel sent by John: https://skfb.ly/o8GDt

Thanks John, I asked them to come here and ask as this was being discussed on PlanetZ and I figured support may be better here.

Temporary color change!
Forgive the ugly lime green, phpbb had a major update that broke older styles (again) and there are very few 3.2.0 styles right now. I will fix the green on this as soon as I am able! Hope you're all enjoying the 1.3 OS

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!
I would assume John was an authorized repair representative but I never thought to ask about voiding my warranty... To be clear, I was allowed to do nothing more than hold my flashlight! Kidding (mostly). Realistically though there wasn't much reason to go in there, aside from showing me how to not ...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!
By the way, just wanted to post a note that after (has it been over 6 years?!) a very long wait I've finally gotten my Solaris! In fact I had the distinct honor of a personal delivery from John along with an in-home tutorial! All owners should be so lucky :D http://kief.net/images/solaris/JohnBowen ...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!
Great news Billy! Astrolab, if you'll connect the SAME exact sequence to your computer and watch the midi stream (or record it into something that won't filter it AT ALL) maybe you can identify what needs to be filtered? As I'm sure you know, there's several small hardware boxes out there that can ...

Re: Display contrast adjustable?
This was one of the first things I checked in the manual, is there a method to implement this should the dev team eventually have time? And possibly LCD brightness as well?

Re: What power-adaptor for the Solaris?
Yes 19 Volts. There was not one around with 12 Volts and over 3A. AFAIK the Volts are flexible for the machine, meaning the unit draws that number of Volts that it needs... the A are to be aware of. This is not correct, the unit will draw the AMPERAGE it needs iirc, voltage can certainly fry the ...

Re: Automating the Joystick
So I'm curious, if the X/Y is sending NRPN's what is the resolution? If greater than 128 steps and you assign CC1 > CC16 to achieve similar control, is a slew limiter necessary to smooth param jumps?
