Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!

Looks like I'm in good company! My white Solaris arrived a little while ago but I haven't had a chance to take a pic. Here it is with a few 'friends'. I'm really glad I went for the white. If anyone is interested, I'm in the UK on the south coast. This beast sounds incredible! Fantastic job John :D ...

My initial reaction is to say yeah! I love red and it does have a sort of Ferrari sexiness to it but the Clavia stuff is all red and you wouldn't want someone to mistake a Solaris for a Nord lead would you! You could go orange (bit Waldorf but it's not so common) or stick with the original body colo...

Cronox is one my favourite softsynths. It can do modulation of the start time of a wave but only at lfo rates. FM is available to sample oscillators but as suggested earlier, this often results in unusable sounds (for my taste anyway). Audio rate modulation of the sample start or loop start could be...

Thanks for that John, I was a huge fan of the Wavestation, one of the synths I used to take out with my band in the early 90's and quite a definable part of the way we sounded. I used it as a master controller too and it was so useful to be able to hold down notes and change patches and keep the not...

I don't disagree that having access to samples to use them as carriers or modulators in FM/PM is a great thing ( I have Octopus in software which has some fantastic possibilities along this line). One of the things that excited me when I heard about the Nord Wave was the inclusion of user waves (and...

I totally agree. I don't buy a synth so that it can sound like a piano or a string section. I want to make totally unique, synthesised sounds (the clue is in the name - synthesiser). I like the idea of being able to load wavetables in (been a fan of wavetables ever since the PPG). But huge samples d...

My initial thought was, wow that looks great, gives the board a stronger , sort of 'aggressive' look. I guess the "vents" don't have to be all the way through or could have fine mesh behind them to reduce dust. I guess to be certain you'd have to see a real deal rather than a render. I thi...

Me too, I originally ordered white with wood but after seeing the vids and pics from NAMM 08 that blue panel and the wood ends just did something to me.

Totally fantastic sounding, just imagine what will be possible when everything is available.
I have to say that I was originally going for the Olive/white colour but the pictures of the unit John's got at Namm are so gorgeous  I think I've changed my mind. May suddenly seems a long way off!
