Yes. Maybe some wood carving could be adapted to the wood panels: http://www.christianbuehner.de/westpoint.jpg It would be nice to have an instrument that also looks a little more artistic than the typical box synths, but maybe not this much and with this particular type of figures, but something a ...

I did originally order the dark version with wooden panels, like an Oberheim Matrix-12. But, now I'm getting to think the light face with wood endpieces is better, because it doesn't look like 'just an other old-time synthesizer'. Seamonkey said it better: 'I think Black has been done so many times ...

Or, how about this?

Image

You could certainly save a lot of panel space thanks to this dense buttonboard. Just count the number of keys!

Ok. It is more complicated than I can right now understand, but the following would be in my opinion more clear to read than using multiple >'s: > StateVariable HP 2, LFO1, EG1, AT I understand that >StateVariable >HP 2 >LFO1 >EG1 >AT can mean that you are going deeper in the menu, but for my eyes i...

John, about #2: Why not to use a marker , like > or * , in front of the active row? It just takes one character. >Hmm? *Hmm? >Here is still an other suggestiong for the active row.< * Here is still an other suggestiong for the active row. * [Here is still an other suggestiong for the active row.] @ ...

This is nice to hear, because a virtual analog synth emulating an other or even multiple real analog synths would not be so hot in my opinion. (Or, maybe the latter would be, but we have got Arturia HW/SW already.) The reason is that you still can get almost any of the legendary analog synths. Of th...

Analog Xpansion

 If the missing analog circuitry will (later) be considered a minus, maybe there could be room for a simple analog expander box, which Solaris could control directrly through MIDI.

Sonic State of Solaris

It would be quite interesting to envisage, how Solaris will be rated in comparison to the following, for example: http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/roland_jd990.cfm http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/oberhiem_xpand.cfm http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/alesis_andromeda.cfm ??? http://www.sonicstate.com/syn...

Hi John, If the range of 'sound variation' is not too different in case of different parameters, then the normalized internal range is a good idea. On the other hand, using the original ranges is more straightforward and you can do the required transformation from 500 to 63, for example,, in the sub...

Yamaha 01x rotary encoders

Xpander encoders are fairly large, but for example 01x has got a row of smaller rotary encoders. They are located just under the display. Please, see the Yamaha 01X Demo by Bert Smorenburg at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6bwiz2ta4s Check especially the following positions: 2:06 2:22 2:59 A nice f...

Definitely yes - as an Expander. But, you cannot actually say definitely no for either, because both would be useful for different kind of needs. The Xpander type of version would ofcourse be nice, if you don't have room for the keyboard. It could be 25% cheaper, like in case of the Prophet'08.

Encoders

Please, let me refer to the Xpander discussion group at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xpantastic Here are their information related to encoders: > Hi! There are push buttons with a LED built in. Check this: http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=5955 ... so, maybe in the beginning of the year 2009, who knows. But, then it would be nice, if it would be a real Solaris Expander with some additional functionality when interfaced with an other Solaris, in addition to just being a spa...
