How are WAV and Akai samples loaded into the Solaris?
What CF card is compatible?
What is the maximum sample size available?

WAV and Akai sample playback

I know this question was touched on briefly as a result of a member's question regarding loading WAV samples, and your response was, we will be using a CF card. This is a great idea, for some reason I thought they would be imported using USB. Can you briefly explain this process and do you know what...

Am I the only person that hates built-in effects sections on synthesizers? YES!! The nice thing about efx included in the synth is you can always turn them off and use your outboard gear, but if you have none included you don't have a choice. Sometimes, the onboard effects are part of the pro...

Re: Not really impressed so far...

Of course many of us who have pre-ordered feel differently about the Solaris than you do, and that's fine. I think it's fine to voice what one perceives as weaknesses or shortcomings in the Solaris, as long as it's not done to start a flame war or just the simple act of trolling, which I don't belie...

Solaris Overview

I spent some time yesterday surfing around this site to quench my thirst for all things Solaris while waiting for the birth of this beautiful baby. Anyway, I wound up on the Solaris Overview page and began reading it again, just to remind myself what is in store for my studio. Is it my imagination o...

Congratulations John

I read on the purchase page all 100 of the preorder units have been filled. Congratulations John, this is quite a feat and a testimony of people's belief and trust in your vision, ears and creativity. May this 100 turn into many more 100's once Solaris has been released and musicians everywhere real...

Why would I be an imposter on my own site? I was just feeling in a silly mood I guess. Thanks for the Wavestation info john. I've been playing mine a lot lately, and I'm amazed at how beautiful and undated it can still sound. There is such an undiscovered palette of sound lying in the short s...

yes.... :D ummmm could be an imposter, only one way to find out.:) If you really are John Bowen, where did you get the samples such as sonar, tubular, ah voice, etc for the Korg Wavestation? were these from the Korg library and instruments such as the M1 or did you guys sample them yourselves? Sorr...

. It is not that I am looking for the Solaris to emulate analog synths per se , the important thing is for it to have that sense of depth and sound quality, and what I heard at NAMM confirmed it to a significant degree. Another one of my favorite synths was the DSI PolyEvolver, but I ended up selli...

I for one don't want the Solaris to be an emulative synth, although I do appreciate and desire to have vintage analog properties at my disposal. I want Solaris to be new and fresh, something you don't find in the VA pages of online magazines or catalogs. I believe John has created something here whi...

I really like the texture you achieved jimmy, it sounds great. As far as having the Waldorf wavetables in Solaris I'm extremely pumped since I've been gassing for a Microwave 1 for some time. This in my opinion makes the Solaris even more GAS worthy. :D Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to hear some ...
