Re: Polyphonic Aftertouch As A Modulation Source

I can understand. It's different, but since it's in the upper right on the top tier at a 45 degree angle for me, it seemed to work out OK. I only wanted another pair of CV inputs for pedals, but this little puppy has so much more. Now I trigger segues and SFX like clips, have an extra sustain I use ...

Re: Polyphonic Aftertouch As A Modulation Source

Bought the whole package and must advise all to get a PAT board. The QUNexus Pads are perfect if angled on top of another controller. That way the pads really make better sense. But for editing overdubs, and seated work it's OK. But the CV Inputs are great for pedalwork and the CoMa features and Ive...

Polyphonic Aftertouch As A Modulation Source

Well I never really thought anything good would come along for a reasonable price, but when adding an extra Expression Pedal to my live rig I was just about to buy the MIDI Solutions Pedal, then saw this KMI QuNexus would do the same, as long as you used a Roland EV-5. Then I started reading about t...

Re: Expression pedal volume

I tried using the Exp. Pedal using an FC7 and decided the Ribbon was more precise, but after giving up an entire hand for such an easy chore I decided to create a Modular IV patch in the Soniccore XITE-1 ( Solaris' Brotha' from anotha' mutha') and use four J.Bowen and S|C FIlters, precisely set up f...

Re: Waldorf XTk

You can always get another XT, Solaris are a boutique/niche instrument, not found at the corner music store. I had the Waldorf Q and thought it was a great little rack, but it was too digitally bright and didn't mix with my analog synths well, Solaris and the analog rackmounts (SE-1) and EML-101 are...

Re: Internal PS

Thanks JB, but it appears that won't be necessary. I rarely have time to unpack the rig and just practice on Solaris but wanted to rearrange some presets for faster performance issues and discovered that having 2 x PSU (walwarts) attached to the metal leg stand was causing shielding issues, which in...

Re: Internal PS

I have used Gorilla Duct Tape to keep the Walwarts taped to the Standtastic 102 legs, and even considering using my old heavy ass Oberheim MC3000 as my Casio XP-3S is having problems too. First gig I ever did where people jump from the drum riser or come around my area flinging their hair and instru...

Internal PS

Is it possible to take Solaris somewhere and have a custom internal power supply modded? I think I can get one done in Nashville but first want to know if it's a good idea or not. No complaints from about the current PSU, although I might get a spare, but it seems I am back to crappy stages for a wh...

Re: Sample Library

Yes but I seek more............ 8) The Silver Flute came in handy recently as I needed 4 String Zones on my controller and was forced to consider using Solaris as a controller then found the Flute samples and alone they aren't convincing, but mixed with Strings from LASS/PLAY they came out sounding ...

Sample Library

Is there a nice collection for samples for Solaris yet, I have been busy lately and want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Re: Hi forum readers, Solaris owners and waiting listers

Had mine for years now and people at the gigs are shocked at it's audio excellence, but I use the digital outs into the AES/EBU on an XITE-1 rack, so it's super clean, super fat, and this synth is moved around every night. It's the best synth I ever owned, and according to everyone else the best syn...
