Re: Polyphonic AT

Hmm... buddy of mine was told at 'messe that it would have poly-at ... but you are correct, they have not yet specified that it will have that in either the press release we got here, or the promo stuff (slim as that info is). (doh... do I feel like a dummy ...)

Polyphonic AT

I know many of us are chomping at the bit to get our Solaris (Solarii) once production resumes now that Germany's August holiday is over ... so, in the meantime thought it might be worth mentioning a really neat poly-at keyboard as possible alternative to the Vax77 some of us have or are considering...

Re: CF card reader

I’ve been mildly surprised that a number of new Solaris owners do not have a Compact Flash (CF) card reader for use with their computer! You will need one to make backups of your Solaris CF card data, plus it’s the only way to read the User’s Guide/Getting Started and Welcome READMEs I’ve put there...

And God said "Let there be white ." http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6004/5975681082_638e5f5b29_z.jpg IMG_1327 by qtuner , on Flickr AWESOME! I've also got the white one on order, which to me communicates the old Oberheim vibe more than the Madonna club vibe (ala Bruce Forat doing "whi...

Re: Announce when you receive your Solaris!

... and specify the color (dark or light), and where you are (e.g., Germany, US, etc.). why? what's the point?! Ummm.... what's the point of your comment? The point is, that it's useful to know who is getting them and where ... especially those of who have been waiting for 3+ years to see on...

Announce when you receive your Solaris!

Howdy... like many, I suppose I am waiting with bated breath, and checking back here to see "who has one..." and thought it might be useful to start a "I got mine" topic (I haven't yet ... personally). So, ideally ... don't post in this topic until you get yours , and specify the...

Re: Production & delivery schedule

All pre-order customers will be getting a direct email about the status of their delivery. Currently the manual is planned as a .pdf file only. Since many of us will end up printing the thing out anyway, a lovely addition for us owners might be a binder with the solaris logo, ala the binders we use...

Here is photo from the Moog Music facebook stream of John in front of the "dark magic" Solaris at 'messe ... (by that I mean, not the white face model...) ;-) http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/207661_10150173719265102_78706090101_6430191_4843313_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcd...

Re: Reviews

FYI, as a long time music journalist (I wrote one of the very first MIDI sequencer reviews in the world; the first review of the SCI 64 cartridge for Commodore 64 plugged into my SCI Prophet 600 and SCI Drumtraks back in Polyphony magazine...before it was sold to MIX and became Electronic Musician),...

my suggestion was not to make the entire forum private... I have revisited my opinion on making this a public forum, and perhaps we should change this to having a public area for customer questions, and private area for paid customers, after all. Of course, anything which helps sells units is a good...

Time to create moderated, approfed account login

Hi, folks.... as you can see yet another SPAMMER has created an account yesterday and posted spam in this forum. I have revisited my opinion on making this a public forum, and perhaps we should change this to having a public area for customer questions, and private area for paid customers, after all...

New silkscreen and ribbon look mahvelous

Let me be first to say I really like the long ribbon on the final silk screen image (thanks John). Very much like the venerable CS-80, and comparable to the optional ribbon on the Kurzweil, and also the Alesis Andromeda. Yay. Now, I'm hoping we have CS-80 filters at some point, too ;-) In the home s...

Hello Everyone! I do question some of the design implementation decisions and wonder if there should is a more practical approach to the interface implementation design and layout that would have passed along some cost savings to potential users and consumers though. $4000 is a lot of coin for a sy...

I plan to audition the patches, do a quick review on MusicIndustryNewswire . com (my site, NOT a plug!); then work on creating two patch sets (see my other post about that). My first "paid" article was back in 1984, for Polyphony magazine (now Electronic Musician, when MIX bought it), wher...
