Re: Custom wood ends for the Solaris

Re: New Solaris Review by Music Players.com Posted

I have to chuckle that they mentioned the "start-up on first preset" situation....otherwise, very nice review!

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

the Solaris still has more bugs than a flea circus. I think that is an inaccurate and unfair characterization. My Solaris works great, and as far as bugs even in its current form has fewer problems than my Andromeda did. JB has had to overcome huge obstacles just to bring it to our studios, and I a...

Do you happen to know what makes the Roland oscs and filters special?
I don't know the specifics, but there is an element of softness, smoothness and lush that kinda defines that sound. Definitely a different flavor.

Roland

I'd like to see emulations of the mid-80's Roland oscillators and filters- Jupiter 8, MKS-70, etc.

The Solaris already covers a lot of the American synths (Moog, Oberheim, Prophet) as well as the Waldorf wavetables.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

So realistically, what would be a reasonable expectation for the next OS? Some of our wishes are pie-in-the-sky (more polyphony), some are reasonable (bug fixes, last preset on startup, reverb in effects, etc.). Can we expect any other added features or models? One thing I was thinking: Solaris does...

They look so good, you almost don't want to take them off to play your keyboards.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

Since JB said there was still a lot of room on the SHARC dedicated to effects (you did say that, didn't you?), as far as effects themselves I would love to see: 1) Reverb (of course!) 2) Compressor- I have been using PSP VintageWarmer2 on just about everything I do ITB, it sounds amazing- gives the ...

I think that problem occurred with exactly one Solaris, which had been subjected to rough shipping.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?

RE: 15 note polyphony - alas, this is not so easy. From our discussion last time I was in Germany in June, it's due to the size of the Oscillator code that limits how much polyphony we can have. If we could implement something like the Blofeld does, where you can select a 'mode' that decides if you...

Re: Event Horizon (128 patches for the Solaris)

Toby's preset bank is absolutely incredible! SHOW HIM THE MONEY. Note to JB: Here is an example of wanting to have the location of the Joystick saved with the preset- I found that with switching presets nothing sounded if I had left the filter closed by having the joystick to the left. These patches...
