I just was informed that Harmony Central has posted all of their videos from the 2008 Frankfurt Messe. You may have to scroll the list to find the Solaris - it's the 5th one listed from the top. (There's several other interesting clips as well - I completely agree with what Dave Smith has to say abo...

Yes, we've discussed this, and I agree it would be handy to have some control over the number of voices assigned per part in a multi-timbre mode. Klaus said it might not matter, though (other than settings based on unison mode, etc.), as good dynamic allocation can 'cover' a lot of things. Polyphony...

Hi All, I've just received some really beautifully finished wood end caps as possible variations for those who want the solid wood look. There's three woods used - ash, Pacific Northwest walnut, and red heart maple. I'll try to get photos up of these within the next day or two. (A fourth choice, fig...

Re: RD II Modules Rotor II w/ 4 x Waldorf Oscillators

It would be really nice to have volume controls on the Oscillator Modules, or separate volume controls like the tuning functions... Jimmy, have a look at the Rotor&Mix RD modules (Rotor&Mix and Rotor&Mix BPM). Both of them have separate volume controls for each of the 4 Rotor inputs. -j...

What about the routing of the filters? I didn't find any information about this detail. And there is still no manual. By the way, when will it be available online? It would be a great reference for people who wonder a lot about this product. The routing is completely assignable (I don't know what y...

Thanks Howard!
(Just to say...Howard did have a few days with the proto Solaris right after NAMM, so he's familiar with the basic sound.)

The intention of this design was only for looks; no vents are needed or planned for Solaris.

Wow! I actually think the photoshopped rendering with the vents on the aluminum side panel is fantastic! I can't imagine it would add any to the cost. ... I think those side panels alone would give the Korg Oasys a run for its money! Nice touch!! I love it!! How about anyone else? I'd like more opi...

Is the poly glide stuff in the hardware?
Yes, I discusses this with Klaus, and intend to have the parameters in there (I just have to decide where to put them in the UI).

The RAM holds both regular sample files and Waldorf-style wavetables. My plan is to have the editor able to load in both objects by the user.

Yes, you just need to assign a MIDI controller number of 11 (Expression pedal) or maybe 4 (Foot controller) to the Frequency knob (whichever controller message your pedal puts out).

Do you mean something special like this photoshopped picture I received the other day?

Best of NAMM - April 2008 issue Keyboard Magazine

I've just found out that the Solaris is prominently displayed in the April issue of Keyboard (page 34), as one of the products regarded as "Best of NAMM from A to Z"! I hope to get a scan of it to post here, but in the meantime, please go check out a copy if you can find it. The text writt...

Here's another video from Messe 2008:

I attempt to speak a little bit of Spanish, but I was a rather tired there (having had about 3 hours' sleep), and the brain didn't function quite so smoothly.

Will the on board RAM be expandable,or fixed at 32mb? The onboard RAM must be soldered onto the board, so it's not very easily 'upgradeable' (unless you are really, really good with miniscule soldering!). When we make the final parts order and pricing, I will know the exact amount of RAM that will ...
