Re: Crazy Ribbon : pitch going up 3-4 octaves after a few seconds
I would disconnect any midi to ensure nothing is affecting the Solaris from the outside. I would then run the self test and calibration routines to see if that helps. The steps are in the manual.

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
I have a Yamaha (model unsure) Pol+, Ensoniq SW-5 Pol-, and a M-Gear (unsure of the model) Pol-. These are all the basic make / break contact variety with no electronics. I did some quick testing in OS 1.2.6 (you may already have this but in case you don't): All of the pedals work fine in edit mode....

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
John - try these steps to reproduce: - Select Bank 0 Patch 25 "JB 4 OSC String Pad" - Starting on the highest key of the keyboard, play a fast descending C scale - You should hear all of the notes sustaining normally - Spin the data wheel quickly up and down to display different patch name...

Re: New version of the OS ? Soon or not ?
WOW! This is great news! You nailed most of my top items - Channel Aftertouch / sustain / joystick midi recognition and fixing the sustain pedal. I have one small request if it is easy - if not it can wait. When I am using a patch with a long sustain and scroll through the presets with the data whee...

Re: Max number of simultaneously notes parameter
Hmmm, now this is not something I’ve listed....that the freeze at the Waldorf screen had something to do with MIDI cables being connected! Is this a consistent behavior in your experience, jgale? For the record, yes, a freeze during boot up at the Waldorf screen is a common experience, and does no ...

Re: Max number of simultaneously notes parameter
The Solaris does not like a Midi loop when booting - it will cause it to hang at the Warldorf screen. If you can, try to eliminate the looping issue and you should be fine. I believe that John has this on the bug list. Tip - if you find the Solaris does not boot even after removing the Midi loop - y...

Re: Max number of simultaneously notes parameter
If you are in Unison mode - you can set the number of voices played when pressing a key. It is the UniVoice parameter after you press the Home button. If you are not in Unison mode, you should be able to play all 10 notes. If not - it could be a Midi loop problem. You can test this by disconnecting ...

Re: Send midi to Solaris
I could be a midi channel issue. Go into the Midi settings (press the More button 4 times and select Midi) and confirm that MIDICtrl is set to on and the Channel is set correctly. For a test you could set Omni to on - this will allow the Solaris to receive on any channel.

Re: Random LFO question
As a work-around I've used the following: http://forums.johnbowen.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=875&p=21126&hilit=random+lfo#p21349 Basically modulating a fast S&H LFO's rate to zero with a negative envelope. Works great for random pitch changes, subtle filter changes, panning, etc. John

Re: Parameter Editing Problem
It may be a Midi loop - the value you change is transmitted and resets your intended change. If you have Midi cables connected remove them and see if it fixes the issue.

Re: 68 patches after one year on diluated use
Thanks for this! Your presets continue to help me to expand my knowledge of the Solaris and how best to get complex sounds out of it. Of special note "Bad Analog" - I like your approach on how you added random variations to pitch and filter.
