I think we can trust in John that he will balance the sample capabilities with the real synthesis core of the solaris.

Thanks John. Will the 4.0 be more similar to Solris HW or the 5.0 ?

16 is what I know from scope synths and is ok for the Solaris with a single preset.
For multitimbral use it seems not enough though.

well, If the expander version allows John to broaden the user base I'll be fine. My vote stays with the keyboard version.

Any decision taken on this one John ?

I can only refer to the scope plugin. And John explained already that the basic architecture is similar to the plugin. Still i expect that the HW solaris is even more flexible. Basically all OSCs are mixed individually and routed to each of the 4 filter sections. These can be switched off or used. t...

Anyway. I trust in the experience, also if not Mr Zebra ;)

Where to draw the line then ? timestretching an pitchshifting in ? or out Envelope follower only ? or pitch and chord analysis as well ? Direct from disc multilayer samples ? or Akai 44 kHz ? or wav 44 kHz only ? Modulation source only ? or also multisample velocity layered carrier in various format...

I think the dark (grey) version with those vents could be a real alternative for my current blue with wood ends order.

It makes it look more like the starship bridhe console which underpins the solaris naming. At least when I think about the Lem science fiction.

Fully agree with you. As a lucky owner of the solaris plugin I am probably very relaxed about the (virtual) analog and subtractive/FM synthesis part since i know it is excellent . The digital wavetable ( and in its mild form the the sampled OSC waveform) part as we know it from waldorf synths is for...
