Solaris as Scope plug-in**.

Post by MatthewCywor »

What if the Solaris synth could transcend its hardware form and become a fully modular software ecosystem within Scope? Could this open up new creative possibilities, or would it dilute the essence of what makes the Solaris unique?

The Solaris started out as a plugin for Scope hardware, and you can still purchase it from Sonic Core:

I believe most of the modules that are representative of functions in the Solaris keyboard are also available as modular units in the Scope Modular library, and you could certainly assemble them in a similar way. There are some differences in the DSP code used for the Scope plugin version versus the keyboard hardware version though, so in some cases the sound will not be the same, as the keyboard has improved versions.

The other main thing is that the hardware offers the physical User Interface that allows for fairly quick adjustment of several parameters, one of my main ideas behind the multi-screen design.
