I was hoping the Ribbon behavior could mimic Ribbons like the old CS80 or even the Kurzweil Expressionmate ( not the new P.O.S.)
The coolest thing about Solaris is it's negative values, which is perfect for tradtional Ribbon behavior.
Maybe I am missing something, but being able to place your finger anywhere on the Ribbon, and then drag the pitch down or up depending on your polarity or desired pitch needs.
This is also nice for shape amounts, Sync, etc.
Just curious if there's way to do this...

Re: Ribbon Positioning
I played with the ribbon at this past NAMM, and I could have sworn that it had zero touch point capability like the CS-80 ribbon.

Re: Ribbon Positioning
Jimmy,
There is a parameter in the Ribbon control page called TouchOff (lower leftmost knob). Set this to On, and you will have your “CS-80” ribbon mode. If you also don’t want to have to hold down the ribbon to retain the position touched, you can turn on the Hold parameter as well.
TouchOff here is short for ‘Touch Offset’, but I think it’s a bit confusing, and I’m asking for them to change this to some wording that is more clear.

The ribbon can output 2 control signals. Here’s the text from the forthcoming Owner’s Manual:
The ribbon controller outputs 2 separate control signals. If you use a single finger, the output signal for Rib1 and Rib2 are the same. If you use two fingers, the control signal associated with the right-most finger is output as Rib2.

Re: Ribbon Positioning
That's awesome thanks Chief..........
I remember the famous song by Herbie Hancock off of the Thrust album(CD) where he used Bi directional pitch slides of the ARP2600S and it was so cool.
He went down and up and then sustained it, then bringing both pitches back to center for an effect I still haven't heard any one ever do, well until today when I try and nail it.
Here's what I got so far, no pitch yet, that's next.
Somebody please tell me if it sucks as I have no soundcard on my PC to monitor things.
