Well, this is really not possible (and besides, the Solaris has more of the faster DSPs than the XITE-D, so it isn't "even smaller" in that regard!). It seems many people still don't understand the difference between a host computer-based system like Scope/XITE, and a self-contained, optimised dedicated system like the Solaris. There is a lot more to it than just saying, "Well, they both use DSPs".
oh i guessed that, i was thinking of adding additional DSP "after" the solaris bits.

Just out of curiosity is there a processor in there to look after all the knobs and displays and stuff, or is it a custom FPGA type thing? are you allowed to say its name?

We use a blackfin processor to do the "housekeeping". That's sort of the equivalent of the 'host computer' system I mentioned with Scope; you'd have to have something that could run Scope (currently a Windows environment) inside, and include a Windows license fee also.

I vote for an iPad app!
A TouchOSC template would be easy enough to create.

One display works for me. I think a knobby layout like the Microwave XT or Origin would be the ticket.
Not likely to happen....it would be more of a minimal layout.
Is a minimal layout rack version being seriously considered?...I'd buy one.

just thought I'd chime in here, and say that a desktop could work really well with a minimal layout if this is what you mean by minimal:

1 display, 1/2 row(2) of knobs.

Then a signal flow diagram with buttons on each section to select that "block". Kinda like the ESQ-1, but with a knob for each parameter in the block rather than THEN pressing another button to assign the single slider.

That's not too different from what I had in mind, which is one display and 2 rows of 5 knobs (same as current graphics display center)....but first, I have to get the keyboard off and running! It will be quite a while before I can invest money into making another product.

Holy kee-rapp! How did I miss this? I was planning on getting the iPad2, but now it's getting just so ridiculous! Better hurry up with that Solaris JB, before someone comes up with an app for that!!

TouchOSC is just a MIDI controller app, so you'll need to buy a Solaris too.

iPad 2 isn't really that much more powerful though, so maybe not Solaris but something smaller...Comet?

I was wondering how many emoticons it would take to carry the joke over.....!?

Considering this thread, I might as well do a little marketing survey -
What would you expect to pay for a Solaris Module, with the more simplified UI?
