New German review online - with the best sound examples yet!

Post by John Bowen »

I was sent this review today for the Web site synthesizer.at. The review and Audio Workshop is by Robert Wittek, and features quite a few of Robert's own sounds in the 36 minutes(!) Audio Workshop:

http://synthesizer.at/synthesizer/Solaris/solaris.htm

The Audio Demo is linked at the end of the review, and comprises what I would say is the finest and most varied sound demo to date of the Solaris! I strongly urge anyone reading here to check it out.

Thanks so much to Robert for his fine work....and hopefully we can work out something to provide these sounds to the users. Really an excellent job, which shows off the Solaris like never before!

Very nice demo.
Excellent thing if you can provide those sounds.

Great, inspirational demo! I love how he puts an emphasis on the more digital side of things instead of just emulating analog stuff. Some great programming there -- interesting textures, full, three-dimensional and very animated. I also like how he takes great advantage of the stereo field.

His review is also worth reading. His only true criticism is that in his opinion the presets don't live up to the SOLARIS' capabilities. Other than that, his verdict is quite enthusiastic.

Is there an English translation available for those of us not fluent in German?

Not yet. I don't know if he will make one, so we just have to see if there's any native German speaker out there who would be willing to post one.

Google's Chrome browser will translate the German to English. It is very broken English (sorry, Marianne Faithful :-) but you can get the idea. The patches are absolutely jaw dropping beautiful stuff. I definitely would love to see how some of them were done. I am counting the days till my Solaris arrives and I bid my wife a farewell while I go into synth hibernation.

Well let's get to the point,.......how much, and is PayPal OK to use.
Love it, someone with talent and time and technique.
At least tell him to send me an email and a price JB, I have no problems paying for quality.
THis guy was making patches in his head before Solaris arrived.

What a wonderful review and what a genius sound designer! I sure hope John can get him to create us a couple of sounds to further improve the preset banks :-)

I have received a set of 50 sounds from Robert, and I'm checking them now. I should be able to release these in a week or two...
